Today I just craved for something simple and spicy with salad. I ran into couple of my friends in the supermarket’s frozen seafood aisle and mimicked their choice and bought some frozen prawns. With some additional ingredients I whipped up a supersimple and spicy tasty salad. Here’s how to make it yourself.
Warm spicy ginger and garlic prawn salad
(Serves 2 / Cooking time with prep approx. 15 min + defrosting time of the prawns)
300 g prawns
125 g cherry-tomatoes (handful)
125 g sugar peas
garlic (couple of cloves)
fresh ginger (2 cm piece)
chilli
fresh salad mix (couple of handfuls)
olive oil
big knob of butter
salt
pepper
What to do:
Defrost the prawns (soaking them in cold water speeds up the process). Meanwhile deseed the chilli and chop it with garlic and ginger. Half the tomatoes and sugar peas.
When all is prepped and the prawns are defrosted heat up a pan. Drizzle some olive oil and add the knob of butter. When hot throw in the chilli, garlic and ginger. Fry for couple of minutes. Add tomatoes, sugar peas and the prawns. Season with salt and pepper. Mix and fry until prawns are done (heated inside-out). You’re done! Plate the dish – put handful of fresh salad mix to a plate and add the fried prawns and veggies on top. Voilà!
Bon appétit!
