Restaurant FARM tasting

Yesterday I got to taste the deliciousness of the new restaurant in town – FARM. I have to say this was the tastiest lunch ever – I love having dinner at lunch time. The mouth-watering modern Estonian cuisine was so elegantly simple and delicious. There’s no fuzz about the food. You feel the care and love in every bite.

The ingredients are as local and fresh as possible. They go outside of Estonia only if something is out of season or just doesn’t live or grow here. Otherwise the stuff comes from local farmers. I have to give them a special praise for using organic meat! I love my meat and I love knowing that it is pure and got to munch on some nice food.

Price range is totally reasonable for an old town location and taking into account the fact that most of the stuff is locally grown and organic then it is very reasonable indeed.

I loved their beef tartare by Kõldu Lihakarn with tomato-caper salad (11€, nice to share as an appetizer for two). The meat was tender and soft and melted in my mouth. Also I recommend trying out the farm-made warm cottage cheese salad using raw milk from the Konju farmstead, with smoked elk sausage (6€). Mmm! The grilled lamb sirloin with vegetables from the Kopra farmstead and tarragon-cherry sauce (18€) was delicious as were the fried venison cutlets with creamy mashed potatoes, mushroom ragout and sour currant salad (12€).

From the desserts I have to say my favourite was the velvety rye malt cream with blackcurrant jelly (6€). I could eat bucketfuls of it. Meringue lovers go for the creamcheeselicous meringue dessert with whipped cream and cream cheese, berries and Farm-made muesli (6€) you wont regret it!

Oh! Almost forgot they have superdelish homemade rhubarb lemonade that you can’t skip on. Also they have house beers that are worth a try.

I’m definitely going back for a dinner or few 🙂
